I'm sure that comment is aimed at me. What timmy and other like posters don't understand is that I don't need to be an act[i]on player because I carry a pot of fairy dust in my pocket. I sit down at the table, sprinkle the fairy dust on my chips, nod off to sleep, waking up just to post my blinds, and magically the stack grows without me having to play a single hand. What other possible explantion can there be for my chip stack growing without me playing a hand?

Haha the nodding off to sleep was pretty funny though. Are you a Narcoleptic or just been up for a very long time on when you played on Thursday ?

Some general comments on the dealers's choice games..... I played in it again last night but left to play on the plo table after about 2 hours mainly because i think the stud games have a tendency to be way too high a variance when played as pot limit.
I will be playing dc again as i think it is something a bit special and there will always be lots of action on it but variance and how and if i can achieve some control over it is always a consideration.
I agree with two of the players who were playing last night.
Mark wraith: I agree with him that the stud games (including razz) might be better played as limit games, but with higher blinds. Possibly 5/10 instead of 1/2? I don't see it as a big problem to alternate blind levels within a dc game so that some games are played pot limit as 1/2 and others as limit 5/10.
Murray brown: I agree with him on two points. Firstly, that the game would be nicer to play, focus and relax in if an orbit of each button nominated game was played rather than switching games every hand. And secondly that if there was a regular set of games that formed the standard dealer's choice games that it might promote the game better as players will be able to learn a set group of games and improve in each of them.
I am not saying that everything should be rigidly set up because after all it is called "dealer's choice" and players will often and quite rightly come to a concensus view over which games to play in any given session but the points that both mark and murray made have some validity.
The dc has undoubtedly already been a big success and it can only get better and better.

This would be a big improvement IMO. A small tweak might be to allow pot bets on the river (for those rolled players who are not all in by this stage).

Pot Limit has never been the way Stud or Tripple draw games have been intended. It favours the player with the massive stack and takes all the beauty of the games. It has nothing to do with variance. PL makes stud games boring and eventually keeps the pots smaller than limit. But every now and then you have to risk all your stack holding only 4 cards and hoping to be more lucky than your opponent. Lets face it, PL Stud is a gamblers game, nothing else. I would play Limit games any day at the club, but PL stud games are a big NO NO for me, count me out...

I guess it is wasted time to argue here as you didn't even bring back the HORSE tournament despite decent fields of runners.

A HORSE tournament would not survive at the international im afraid.
Lets just see how this PLO tournament develops firstly...

Hehehe
I can quite see barry setting up a REGULAR "one off" HORSE tournie.
In fact I can't see anybody doing it.
Somebody find a way to do it and make possible which in the case stated 2 posts above is most definately impossble.

I'd love to play some Omaha Hi/Lo but I understand it's a big ask for the dealers in some respects. Plus I know not everyone likes chopping so many pots ;)

It's an option in the dealer's choice game - preferably with 5 or 6 cards to stop the domination of good aces and strong A2s.
