Lucky i'm in the fortunate position that I can continue losing until the end of the year and my rent and bills will all be paid for. Something sorted out back when I turned to this full time.
Even so I seem to be able to spend money as a faster pace than ever, so i still need some spending money!

You are a good tournament player and I hope you win something big very soon. I suspect everyone goes through this at one time or the other.

Don't listen to everyone telling you to take a break. Play online and put in as much volume as you can. If you play a lot a bad run will be shorter in terms of time.

Today. Played the afternoon comp. 6 left, 4 get paid, AIP with AA against 56. 56 gets there. :-(
£75 this evening. 30 left. AIP with AK v A8s. He rivers a flush. :-(
I'll tell you what. When I get the reverse variance i'm going to run better than Usain Bolt with a tailwind!
Please soon.
Anyone have any ideas what I can do to appease the poker gods...? i'll try anything right now!!

I can tell you the names of the two most powerful poker gods if this helps?
They are called Bink & Boom.

one thing no one has mentioned is to review your hh's. If you do this and find you are playing as you believe you should then your mind can be reassured that this is varience. It will also give you a greater understanding of opponents play, perhaps games have chnaged. Either way this should definitley be a big part of a pro's game. Golfers dont just walk on to the course each week they practice hard and walkteh course, you should be doingthis. If you find things you are doping wrong correct them, likewise if you are playing well but running bad then shrug and move on....

I agree with reviewing hand histories, after every single session I play online I spend 30 - 60 mins going through key hands, checking to see what I think I did right or wrong in them. Most HUDs have a "Mark for Review" button, so I say use that. I also make notes of key hands on my iPhone when I play live so I can think about them I get home.
These things are important.
I think running bad and playing well seldom go hand-in-hand. Often when you run bad, you lack confidence and you overcompensate in areas of your game (calling when you shouldn't thinking "he can't have me beat again" when he does, forcing the action because you're not getting cards, playing too tight because you don't wanna bubble again, etc).
We're all miles away from the finished articles, the ones that do well I think are the ones that are the most dedicated to improving. Talking and posting the odd hand on the forum is okay, but really most of us could spend more time just reading through our own hand histories and find plenty of leaks that will help us a great deal more than the odd hand in isolation.

I was playing that STT disguised as an MTT and saw how bad you were running. Fwiw I thought that you played the best out of the entire (admittedly small) field, especially at the FT so I don't see what you can really do apart from have confidence in your game and go from there. You open a lot more than the average live MTT player but I don't think that that's a leak because I didn't see you play any hands badly post flop.
I was making a bit of a joke about your luck but the intention wasn't to wind you up but just to empathise with the fact that these runs happen. Hope things turn around for you anyway although I would note that if you had dutifully lost the A10 v 22 against me as you assured me you would it would have saved you the pain to come :-)
