Full Tilt Signs James Dempsey after Strong WSOP Run

Poker pro James “Flushy” Dempsey’s recent heater continued, as he followed up a strong World Series of Poker with a sponsorship contract at Full Tilt Poker. The signing of the British player from Brighton came after winning one bracelet, finishing runner-up in another event and recording two additional cashes for a wildly successful WSOP.

Dempsey was a key part of the record-setting year for Great Britain at the WSOP. The Brits picked up a total of five bracelets to tie Canada for second place, with Dempsey, Richard Ashby, Praz Bansi, Mike Ellis and Steve Jelinek all grabbing the jewelry for the Union Jack.

Now Dempsey is joining Ashby and Bansi on a new list. He is the latest member of the Full Tilt red pros, the sponsored squad of pros at the world’s second largest online card room. He will be a regular playing on the site’s tables, and he will wear the Full Tilt logo at live events.

“I couldn’t be more excited. This is such a dream of mine. I’ve worked very hard for this over the years and to have won a bracelet and now this… it’s just fantastic,” Dempsey said. His first order of business will be to represent the website in the Full Tilt Poker Million which will air on Sky Sports in the UK this month.

Holder of a coveted bracelet, winner of over $500,000 at this year’s WSOP and now a Full Tilt red pro, James Dempsey is on a hot streak. Players at Full Tilt can find the 27 year-old Brit prowling the site’s virtual felt, now as the newest member of its pro team.

James did you start out playing at Gutshot? I just found this thread from 2005 (minus your posts?) about your poker endurance record attempt at Gutshot to raise funds for charity:

http://gutshot.com/bforum/showthread.php?p=69888

This report says you got to 66 hours before you had to stop with health problems. What memories do you have of that?

It's amazing to think Phil Laak just managed 115 hours. I feel knackered right now and I've only been up 17!
