An introduction


The University of Gutshot is a scheme designed to find and aid the next generation of poker players. Our target players could be those who are looking to play for a living but do not have the financial means to do so, those who play for recreation but are looking to take a step up and move on to bigger things or just for a player who is dedicated to poker and is looking for a new challenge with a great reward at the end of it all.

Regardless of your reasons for enrolling in the University of Gutshot, everyone is welcome. As long as you're dedicated to following the entire term right through to graduation then you could be the right person for us.

What is the reward?


At the end of three month-long terms, assuming you make it through all the evaluation tests, you’ll have the opportunity to become a Gutshot Pro and join the ranks alongside the likes of Andy Achillea, Ed Roger and Gabriel Forde. Furthermore, you’ll be rewarded with a lucrative one year sponsorship contract worth $30,000.

The sponsorship package breaks down in the following way:

Tournament Buy-Ins

  • £500 per month of tournament buy-ins at The International club in London (or your local equivalent)
  • Three GUKPT entries of your choice (excluding the grand final)
  • One Matchroom TV Event with a buy-in of no more than $5,000
  • One seat at EPT London worth $8,200 (or equivalent)

Additional Benefits

  • Enormous rakeback on the Gutshot Poker client
  • Affiliate status, allowing you to earn money for players you refer to Gutshot
The best part of the whole deal hasn’t even been mentioned yet - unlike most sponsorship deals, there will be absolutely no make-up… This means if you cash you won’t be required to repay any previous tournament buy-ins, just the one you entered into. Everything else is split straight down the middle, 50-50.

Here’s an example of how the deal works:


A Gutshot Pro wins $10,000 in an event with a $1000+$100 buy-in. The amount back to the pro would be $4450. ($1100 back to Gutshot then a 50-50 split of the remaining $8900).

We don’t want our pros to work hard, land a big score and have to hand back all their money in make-up and that’s why this is such a fantastic deal and a wonderful opportunity for all our students.

What's the catch?


With a deal this good most people would be asking what the catch is and there are a couple of small ones. Just like any sponsored poker professional you will be required to wear Gutshot branded attire during all public poker related appearances, even outside of the sponsored events, and to act in a professional manner which upholds the integrity of the Gutshot brand.

In addition to this, you will also be expected to help train the next generation of Gutshot Pros, just like the previous generation did for you! That means recording tutorial videos, posting on the Gutshot Pro forum and blogging on any tournaments that you play in.
